Does the thought of giving back or charity make you feel uncomfortable? If it does, maybe it’s because you’re not giving to the causes you’re passionate about or were created for. To me, giving back is using your God-given talents to make this world a better place. Let’s take a closer look at this.
This post is all about Giving Back: Using Your Gifts.
Giving Back
I’m here to say that giving back can be fun. Using your God-given talents to make this world a better place is a gift. I think we sometimes, myself included, think that giving has to be a certain way or specific activities and actions. I believe that living out your purpose to bless others is a gift. I don’t know where the world would be without those who created beautiful symphonies, buildings, and restaurants. Or wrote books that changed people’s lives, directed movies that moved people, accomplished things no one has ever done and caused inspiration in others. Even something special like spending time with your children. To me those are gifts.
If that doesn’t fuel your flame, then try to volunteer with an organization or cause that you’re passionate about. Whether it’s sea turtle rescue, a feeding pantry, or tutoring/coaching. It’s about connection with others. We all crave intimacy and friendship, at different levels of depth with different people. Find your people who you enjoy being around, doing activities that you enjoy doing. Life is too short to do the opposite. Another point, is that we’re all different. Some people would rather write cards to veterans than walk dogs at the shelter. Some people would rather do the opposite. And that’s okay. We’re wired differently.
In this season of life for me, one of them is writing. Sharing my thoughts with the world, being vulnerable, in hopes that I grow in love and impact hearts. With a growing family, my time is limited, and this is one thing that I can find the time for. And it brings me joy. And I hope that it brings you joy. Thanks for letting me share my gift with you. For a gift without anyone to share it with is not a gift at all, but an empty present. So get out there and be your best self, share your gifts, and light a fire in your heart, because the world needs you. We need you. And when you start to give, is when you start to receive.
Lots of Love,
