Do you find yourself failing to live your dreams? Is there something that lies between you and the life that you want to live? Let’s examine what causes us to never take action and together, let’s take the leap! For your dreams can’t wait.
For some, dreaming is easy. For some, dreaming is hard. For me, I know exactly what I want. In fact, I have a list of 20 to 30 things pinned to the wall of my 10-year dreams, family dreams, and dreams for the year. I don’t struggle with knowing the life I want. I struggle to take action.
For me, finding the time to grow my dreams is the greatest challenge. As well as figuring out how I can actually accomplish them doing something I love. I am a married man and father, I have responsibilities and duties to put my family first in all things, as they are my biggest dream! How can I dream even bigger so that I can spend more time with my family doing things I love?
With so many dreams that you want to see blossom, how can you possibly devote yourself to actually achieving them? With so many responsibilities it can often seem daunting. Well, I’m here to tell you that it can be, but also it can’t. It can be relatively easy to do the things you were meant to do. You just have to master the one thing that is keeping you from your destiny, yourself.
In this post, we’ll dive into taking a chance and leaping for our dreams. Together, we can dream and achieve anything!

This post is all about Take The Leap: Live Your Dreams.
Your Dreams
Your dreams. They are yours alone! Don’t let anybody else take them from you or water them down.
Make a list of your most important dreams. Don’t be afraid to make your dreams highly specific and beyond your wildest imagination.
It is recommended to make your dream 5 to 12 times greater than your current state. They will stretch you and force you to grow.
According to one of my favorite books, 10x Is Easier Than 2X, it may be easier to achieve your dreams if you set higher goals and standards. As counterintuitive as it sounds, they force you to become a new person, shedding that which doesn’t best serve you and your dreams. Pick up The 10X Rule while you’re at it and learn how to dream bigger.
Here are my dreams. What are yours? I recommend a list of at least 3-12 Dreams that you pin to your wall or some place where you see them every day. Don’t hide your dreams in a drawer. They deserve to shine in the light!

Bonus: Can you reward yourself with something when you accomplish your dreams?
The Pit
The Pit is the thing that causes most dreams to not take place. It is in the Pit that most dreams never come to fruition and remain only dreams, not reality. A dream is no fun unless you are working towards it or you accomplish it. Untapped dreams are delusions, as my hero Ed Mylett often expresses.
What is the Pit? It is a dark void of monsters and dream suckers, a black darkness that you are leaping over. Don’t let it consume you or take you in, fly towards your dreams and never look back.
For practicality’s sake, the Pit is your fears, inadequacies, laziness, lack of energy or motivation, limited thinking, unsupportive dream crushers, [insert dream zapping thought, person, or behavior here].
In reality, you are going to want the opposite of the Pit in your life, let’s call it Paradise. Paradise is your dreams, sufficiencies and gifts, hard-working abilities, positive energy and motivation, expansive thinking, supportive dream makers, [insert dream-winning thought, person, or behavior here].
So how do you bring Paradise to your life and avoid the Dream Takers? By surrounding yourself with incredible people, books, education, podcasts, or any type of content that will push you closer to your dreams.
Whether you have Paradise or the Pit on your side, at some point you are going to have to start moving towards your dreams. How?
By taking the leap.
Taking The Leap
Some people never take the leap. They never choose to jump over the pit. They are stuck in the same place, as the same person, with the same dreams they had 10 years ago. Nothing has changed. And while this is totally fine, if you are living a good and loving life, you are doing a disservice to yourself, your family, and your friends if you are not pursuing a life you love with those you love.
Leaping over the pit is one of the hardest and most challenging things. It is the place where growth, wonder, and magic happen. Once you take that leap, you are in midair, flying towards your destination. You can either reach your destination, fall in the pit, or recalibrate your trajectory and land in a different location. Some will try to turn around and go back to the person or place that they were before, and this is completely fine, but just know that you are going to have to grow, change, and become more to achieve your dreams.
Some find that they were already living the dream, they just needed a little more perspective, and this is totally acceptable as well. Sometimes all we need is a mindset change and an expansion of who we are and what we can become. Whatever it is you are looking for, please celebrate you for taking the leap, honing in on your target, and pursuing your dream, for your loved ones, family, friends, and all of society. You are a gem and you deserve to be rewarded for your efforts, if not in this life then the next. You are brave.
What happens after you take the leap? You fly. You fly until you reach your destination, whatever that is. It may be an internal upgrade, a new friendship, an appreciation of life and love, or an achievement that expands your thinking of what is possible. Whatever the outcome, just know that some dreams are harder than others to embrace and accomplish. Try to think from the perspective of long-term gain, with the knowledge that every moment is precious and you might as well get after it now.
Do you want to look back on life 10 years from now knowing that you made progress in being the person you want to be? Or do you want to remain stuck in the Pit? I want to reach the dream, be the dream, and wake up every day loving my wife, family, friends, and community. Reaching your dreams is not easy, but it is far more enlightening to fly toward them than never giving them a shot.
I’ll let you in on a little secret: If you are flying towards your dreams with others who are pursuing their dreams, you help carry each other mid-air. It makes the flight much easier, supporting each other through the ups and downs. Find a good group of Dream Achievers to fly with.
Life is short, let’s live those dreams!
